Writer, Toastmaster, Linux enthusiast
For most of my life I've been fascinated by language, words, and communication. I was fortunate to grow up in a family where we were encouraged to use a wide vocabulary and good grammar. In addition to technical writing, proofreading and editing, I sometimes turn my hand to poetry, with varying levels of success.
In 2006, I discovered Toastmasters. Once I'd got beyond the initial nerves, I discovered that I actually enjoyed communicating with spoken language as well as in writing. At the present time, I belong to two clubs and have taken on other Toastmasters leadership roles as well. A good deal of this now involves helping others to make progress, which I find very rewarding.
When I'm not writing or involved with Toastmasters activities, I'm likely to be found helping to moderate an online Linux forum and the FreeToastHost (Toastmasters club websites) support forum.
